Amanda Crim teaches capital High (CH)—Madison’s newest high school that serves opportunity youth using a competency-based educational model. As the only science teacher at CH up to this point, Crim has been solely responsible for developing the science curriculum for all the schools students. Crim has a great degree of creative freedom in this process and is excited to design and implement rigorous and engaging cross-curricular project-based learning.“In today’s world of climate change and pandemic, it is more important than ever that our students enter adulthood with a clear understanding of planetary health and how their activities directly impact it. I am excited to bring learning from this institute back to my students and new science teacher partner,” said Crim.
