I taught AP Art and AP Art History for 16 years as well as Drawing I and II, (oil) Painting I and II, Design Arts I and II, Ceramics II, and Figure Drawing. Sharing my passion for art history gave me the opportunity to encourage and push the thinking of my high school students. My teaching career began with elementary students in St. Louis, Missouri, over 31 years ago. An opportunity to work with high school students rejuvenated me to continue my journey as an educator and an artist. Before I left the elementary level, I was awarded the honor of Parkway Art Teacher of the Year (2003-2004). I was the Regional and Department Leader in Art for Parkway School district for seven years. The last two years of teaching high school, I was able to share my AP Art exam knowledge as MSPLC Leader for our District AP Art group. I have enjoyed being an AP Reader for Art & Design for the last nine years. During the 2020 Art & Design read, I was fortunate enough to be a table leader. I have been a consultant for College Board for two and a half years. I look forward to sharing my experience, student examples, and knowledge with other educators.
